William Celentano

Bill is respected by all who know him for his professionalism as a funeral director, for his dedication to the New Haven Fire Department, and for the numerous other organizations he has served as a volunteer. Bill graduated from Hopkins, Villanova University and the San Francisco College of Mortuary Science.

He has served on the New Haven Board of Fire Commissioners for 20 years and served as president of the Board for four years. He has served on the New Haven Fire and Police Pension Board, the Hosp. of St. Raphael Foundation Board of Directors for eight years where he was chairman of the Gifts of Remembrance Committee.

Bill served on the Board of Directors of the Amity Club and served as its president, and served as a member of the Greater New Haven Jaycees. He is a co-author of a book on the history of the New Haven Fire Dept. and has taken leadership roles in Funeral Directors Associations.

Bill has received numerous honors including the Gold Ring from New Haven Boys & Girls Club Alumni; and the Charles Carroll Medal from the Knights of Columbus. He and his wife Gigi live in New Haven.
