Philip Paolella

Philip Paolella, Sr., was born in New Haven April 3, 1915. He was the President of Plasticrete Corporation in Hamden. One of his numerous achievements was as Founder and President of the Ethnic Heritage Center at SCSU. He was also a Director of St. Raphael’s Hospital.

He also served as a member of the Board of  Yale New Haven Hospital, Southern Connecticut Gas Co., SNET, New Haven Savings Bank and Sacred Heart Academy. He was President of NCMA and was the recipient of an honorary Doctorate from Albertus Magnus College.

Devoted to his faith, Mr. Paolella was a daily mass communicant. He was the recipient of numerous awards, among them the Knight of St. Gregory, the Mother Clelia Award from the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Charles Carroll of Carrollton Award and the Citizen of the Year from the Hamden Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Paolella was the husband of the late Angelina Gagliardi Paolella and the father of Sr. Mary Jane Paolella, ASCJ, Anne Marie (Michael) Ferris, Joseph (Lorraine), Michael (Lori), John (Marybeth) and the late Philip (Karlyn) Paolella.
