John Esposito

John is a lifelong New Haven resident. He graduated from Wil­bur Cross H.S and Fairfield University earning a B.S. and 6th year Degree in Administration. He furthered his education at SCSU completing a Masters Degree in Speech Pathology. John began as a classroom teacher in 1959 at Sheridan Middle School.

He served the New Haven Public Schools for a total of eighteen years, the last ten as principal of Troup Middle School and Conte School. He resigned from Public Education in 1977 and entered the pri­vate sector with Metropolitan Life.

John left Metropolitan in 1980, and continued to work in the Life Insurance industry as an Independent Agent for the past thirty-two years. He served as a member of the New Haven Board of Finance, and Chair­person of the New Haven Board of Education in the administration of Mayor Biagio DiLieto. He is currently a member of the New Haven Development Commission.

John is a long time member, and former President of the Order of Sons of Italy Lodge # 37; Branford Italian American Social Club; former member of the Society of St. Maria Maddalena (SSMM); Past President of the St. Bernadette Home School Association; Saint Bernadette School Board; New Haven Gridiron Club; East Shore Sandlot Football Association.

Carol and John, along with their daughters Joy Healey (Christopher), Pamela Ganim (George), grandchildren and extended family will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary on August 24, 2012.
