Elisabetta Haversat Bio
A native Italian speaker, Elisabetta Gibellato Haversat comes to the Italian-American Historical Society with a wealth of qualifications and experience in the language and culture of our ancestors.
She has been teaching Italian to students at all proficiency levels. She was the Italian teacher at Derby High School and Torrington High School. Prior to teaching in Connecticut, she taught at Gill St. Bernard’s School in New Jersey. She also teaches adult classes and tutors college students and adult learners online for Learn and Associates, a New Jersey school that offers private classes and lessons.
She holds a Connecticut State Department of Education Teaching Certification.
She is currently a part-time Professor of Italian Language, Literature and Culture at Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Connecticut.
She is a board member of the Italian-American Historical Society of CT. She is a board member of the Ethnic Heritage Center and the coordinator of the EHC board’s monthly zoom meetings.
She is volunteering her time to teach the IAHC Society’s semi-monthly Italian language and culture course.
She is also a volunteer for the preservation of the IAHC Society’s archives as well as organizing educational and community outreach programs and events at the EHC.
