Founded in 1979, the Italian-American Historical Society of Connecticut devotes its time to researching, recording and preserving the centuries-old history, culture and traditions of the Italian people.
Through the generous donations of private families and institutions like Southern Connecticut State University, the Society has accrued an impressive collection consisting of:
- personal papers
- genealogies and photographs
- a library of books, newspapers and periodicals
- many artifacts.
Audio and Video
Interviews with those who have lived interesting lives, or who can recall past events, or share a bit of nostalgia are recorded on audio and video tapes and are included in the collection.
Public Service
All of the valuable data in the archives is available to everyone for research or enjoyment. Chaperoned school tours are welcomed and encouraged.
Admission is free.
