Our Mission:
To embrace and preserve the history of our immigrant ancestors. This will allow future generations to more fully understand and appreciate past efforts and sacrifices which made it possible for us to be where we are today


Founded in 1979

Founded as the Italian-American Historical Society of Greater New Haven, Inc. on June 15, 1979, its purpose as a society was to cel­ebrate and perpetuate the concept of the Italian heritage in America. The society is now known as the Italian-American Historical Society of Connecticut.

It recognizes the accomplishments and the history of Italian Americans through the preservation of documents, artifacts, photographs and videotaped oral histories.

La Storia Newsletter

We publish a quarterly newsletter “La Storia”, annually honor an outstanding member of our community, sponsor pro­grams, conduct Italian language and genealogy classes and hold special events to promote our mission.
